Calendario Milonguero

EVARISTO CARRIEGO dies. Poet. He grew up in Palermo, at the time a barrio of “compadritos”. He was the first one looking at the “arrabal” (the suburbs) that was forming in Buenos Aires in the 1900’s with the eyes of an artist.  His works had titles like, for example, ALMA DEL SUBURBIO (soul of the suburb) and LA CANCIÓN DEL BARRIO (the song of the barrio). He did no write any tangos but he inspired many. Like for example this homage composed by Eduardo Rovira.
