Birth in Montevideo, Uruguay, of JULIO CARRASCO. On August 11, 1939 when Osvaldo Pugliese premiered with his orchestra in the “Café Nacional” on the calle Corrientes, Carrasco was one of the violins. There he remained for twenty-five years. The tango we are listening to now, composed by Carrasco, was the first one composed by one of the members of his orchestra that Pugliese included in his repertoire.
